Welcome to the new DigiCaptures blog!

I've been needing a place where I can post non-photo items, like videos, files, tutorials, ruminations, and that sort of stuff.

A couple of weeks ago I put up a library section, and though it worked quite well, I quickly realized that it provided no mechanism for  visitor interaction. Though I don't get much of it, I consider comments to be an important aspect of my web site. Therefore, I spent a couple of days downloading various blogging packages to see how easy they were to install, interface with DigiCaptures, and maintain. I finally settled on a French package called dotClear. It's very nice and from a programming view point, it's a well written piece of software.

As I learn about trackbacks and all the other blogging goodies, I'll be updating the database and merging the library files into the new software. This should take me a couple of days, though from your viewpoint, it'll just suddenly appear as an option on the DigiCaptures navigation bar.
