2008-08-24: Most Unedited Photos Moved
I've moved almost all the photos in the Unedited Photos gallery into the private gallery. My reason for this is two-fold: a) I'm trying to make the site a bit more of a showcase for our photography and less of a showcase for our vacation photos, and b) there was a lot of information in the description fields for these photos that I don't want to lose so rather than delete them, I moved them to a closed area for the time being. 90% of these photos were images we took on our Zion and Yellowstone vacations.
2008-03-20: Comments Removed
As noted earlier, I have decided to remove the comments section. My thanks to all of you who commented on the photos.
2008-03-01: Comments Being Removed
I'll be removing the comments section some time toward the end of the month. The visit counts indicated that having such a section might be a helpful mechanism for feedback and critiques of our photos. That hasn't turned out to be the case. Aside from Jan's input, the comment section hasn't elicited much feedback at all, except for the thousands of attempts to interject SPAM into that area.
2007-12-28: EXIF Info Available
A transparent popup window that contains the photo EXIF information will appear whenever you move your mouse over the blue "i" ("i"nformation) icon. You'll find the icon on the background bar, above the photo.
2007-12-24: Background Color Change
I finally got around to making the background color stick when you change it on the photo pages. It's only applicable to the photo pages, and it will only last for the duration of your session. The background color reverts to the default when you close all instances of your browser.
2007-11-05: Thank You, Everyone!
I was doing some database maintenance today and, on a lark, I decided to see what the total hit count on the site has been. There have been about 243,000 vists, or about 152 views for each photo on the site! I was floored, because I thought that very few people visited this site. Even if half of those hits are from RSS bots, that's still a lot of visits!
So, to all of you who have visited, thank you very much for your patronage!
2007-08-13: Hachi Gets His Own Gallery!
Hachi has quite a few of his photos on the site, so I figured that it was time to give him his own gallery. Please, don't fawn over them too much. It only encourages him!
2007-07-27: Taking A Break!
I'm a bit burned out, and frankly, I don't have anything new in queue to work on. So, I'm going to take a break for a few days and work on some other projects I've been meaning to get to. See you all when I "get over it!"
